Phi Kappa Psi - Ohio Theta Chapter Alumni

44th Annual Founders' Day Event
Saturday, April 17, 2010

As winter comes to a close, the undergraduate brothers and members of the Ohio Theta House Corporation are busy planning this year's 44th Annual Founders' Day event. As you know, Founders' Day is a great opportunity for all Ohio Theta alumni to come back and visit the chapter, as well as meet and mingle with other brothers that have called Ohio Theta home throughout the chapter's history.

The 44th Annual Founders' Day holds special meaning for many brothers of Ohio Theta as it will be marked as a memorial event for Brother Jerry Dunlap..., and will include a special ceremony where the Ohio Theta chapter house will be named in Brother Dunlap's honor.

If you plan on attending this year's Founders' Day event, please email Brother Mike Flerchinger..., Alumni Relations Chairman at mflerchi@ashland.edu.

Voice of Psimon
Chapter Newsletter Announcement

As our living alumni base continues to grow and prosper, we have had to make some tough decisions regarding the future of the Voice of Psimon. The rising costs of printing and postage, combined with the increased circulation of each issue have become an increasing burden on the chapter, with the semi-annual budget for Voice of Psimon being exceeded only by the costs of insurance, chapter service fees, and formal recruitment. As such, we have decided to take Voice of Psimon into the digital era by unveiling an environmentally friendly electronic version of our semi-annual newsletter.

The first all-digital issue of Voice of Psimon, a fall 2009 / spring 2010 double issue, is scheduled to be online the evening of Wednesday, March 17, 2010. If you have any questions or concerns relating to the digital edition of Voice of Psimon, please email Brother Alex Curavo..., (acuravo@ashland.edu) or Brother Mike Flerchinger... (mflerchi@ashland.edu).

If you have any personal news or updates, including engagements, wedding announcements, births, out-of-state moves, career changes, etc., or if you would just like to share a story of your undergraduate experience as a Phi Psi, please email them to Brother Mike Flerchinger... (mflerchi@ashland.edu) no later than March 14, 2010 for inclusion in the upcoming issue. Photos (new and old) are also more than welcome.

75th Grand Arch Council
Hilton Walt Disney World Resort - Orlando, Florida
July 28 - August 1, 2010

The 2010 Grand Arch Council is right around the corner. This year marks the 75th gathering of Phi Kappa Psi's biennial governing meeting. We are excited to be gathering in Orlando and the Hilton in Walt Disney World Resort from July 28-August 1.

Registration is now open, and you may visit the GAC container on Phi Psi Connect or click this link to sign up for your spot. While we prefer you register online using your Phi Psi Connect account, you can contact the national headquarters at 800-486-1852 to register and pay by phone.

The cost for early registration (good until May 28th) is $275 for undergraduates and $300 for alumni. For members of the Order of the S.C. there are special pricing options in the online process as well.

Hotel  We have a special rate reserved with the Hilton of $149 per night. You may call the hotel at 407-827-4000. Be sure to mention that you are booking a room in the "Phi Psi Grand Arch Council" block to obtain a hotel room at the discounted rate.

Remember: Your registration cost covers the convention only, so you are responsible for booking your own hotel room .

Guests  Phi Psi brothers are welcome to bring guests and/or their families to the Grand Arch Council. In fact, with the family-friendly environment of Disney World as our backdrop, we hope to see more fathers at this GAC than ever before. For advance purchase of specially priced Disney Meeting/Convention Theme Park tickets, please click here.

In the online registration process, you can select a la carte options for your guests in terms of particular activities. Children have a special rate of $20 for the GAC which covers their admittance to the Childrens Banquet, taking place at the same time as the final banquet of GAC.

There is no organized spouses program for the 2010 GAC because of the amount of activity within reach at the resort.

Part-Time Registration  For brothers who may live in Florida or would like to only attend for a brief period of time or specific event, there is the option to register as a part-time attendee and attend only certain events. You can select the part-time attendee feature at the beginning of the online registration process.

Note: Part-time attendees do not receive credit for having attended the GAC. This affects S.C. credit, and representation status for your chapter or alumni association

More information will be sent to those who have signed up as we near the date, but the tentative schedule is available now.

Golf Outing  The Phi Psi Foundation will be hosting the Founders Cup on the morning of July 28th. Registrants will be receiving information in the near future, but if you would like to put together your team, please contact the Foundation at 800-350-1852 for more information on the golf outing.
