Jerry and
Terrie Dunlap Service Award - $2,000 Award
The Jerry & Terry Dunlap
Service Award is a gift given in the honor of
Brother Jerry Dunlap and his wife Terrie, who
have distinguished themselves as leaders and
philanthropists through a life of service to
numerous groups and organizations. They took the
ideals and values of the Fraternity and applied
them to every aspect of their life, truly living
for The Great Joy of Serving Others. Jerry and
Terry together founded Camp Nuhop, a camp that
serves children with special needs. Brother
Dunlap was a member of the local fraternity, Phi
Sigma Chi, and then a Founding Father of the
Ohio Theta Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi, on April
16th, 1966. Brother Dunlap was a dedicated
friend, mentor, and alumnus who served on the
Ohio Theta House Corporation for 42 years until
his passing in 2008.
The Jerry &
Terrie Dunlap Service Award is a $2,000 award
given to an undergraduate Brother of the Ohio
Theta Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi who has provided
meritorious service to people, to the community,
or to specific organizations. While candidates
must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8, the
emphasis of this award is placed on service to
campus, college community and hometown
organizations. The award must be used for
academic purposes and is contingent upon the
full time enrollment status of the winner.

University and the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
Helen
B. Smith Leadership Award - $1,000 Award
The Helen B. Smith Leadership
Award is a gift given in the honor of Ms. Helen
B. Smith who was a caring and loving figure to
the brothers of Phi Sigma Chi and Phi Kappa Psi.
Showing the wisdom of Solomon, this grand lady
soothed wounded hearts, shared Christian
principles, and saw to it that the brotherhood
was reminded how a gentleman should act. Without
Mom's willingness to give up her Ashland College
housemother seniority in 1962 and move to
Clarement Avenue, Ashland College would never
have allowed housing at the 502 Clarement Phi
Sigma Chi residence. Were it not for her
financial help from time to time to meet
homeowner obligations, and her ability to serve
as our college goodwill ambassador when needed,
our Fraternity would not have survived. She
served as housemother from 1962-1972.
The Helen B. Smith Leadership
Award is a $1,000 award given to an
undergraduate Brother of the Ohio Theta Chapter
of Phi Kappa Psi who has demonstrated moral
character and outstanding leadership skills
through formal and/or informal roles. While
candidates must have a cumulative GPA of at
least 2.8, the emphasis of this award is placed
on leadership within the Chapter, campus
community, and Ashland or hometown community.
The award must be used for academic purposes and
is contingent upon the full time enrollment
status of the winner. Applicants must be in good
standing with Ashland University and the Phi
Kappa Psi Fraternity.
Ohio Theta
Scholarship Incentive Program
Established in the fall of
2009, the Ohio Theta Scholarship Incentive
Program provides a rebate of $25 off semester
dues to any brother who achieves at least a 3.5
GPA, and $50 off semester dues to any brother

the United States, with assets expected to
